The municipality could participate as accuser in both litigations and it was resolved that the oil spilled was dangerous waste (Federal Court of La Plata).

Supreme Court of Argentina (CSJN, Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación) - In the matter of "Mendoza Beatriz Silvia y Otros c/Estado Nacional y otros s/Daños y Perjuicios (daños derivados de la contaminación de la cuenca Matanza Riachuelo) Nº M-1569/04 ORI". Defending the fourteen municipalities being sued (Alte. Brown, Avellaneda, Cañuelas, Esteban Echeverría, Ezeiza, Gral. Las Heras, La Matanza, Lanús, Lomas de Zamora, Marcos Paz, Merlo, Morón, Presidente Perón and San Vicente) and participating in their representation at the Public Hearing held on November 28, 2007.
